Sammy is the ultimate horse. His disposition and work ethic are unparalleled. His National Hunter/Jumper Championships are too numerous to list. He has been partner to many riders, amateur and youth, and taken them to success. You can imagine how heartbreaking it was for his current young rider when he developed laminitis in February 2006.
Sammy came to Daisy Haven Farm in June 2006 after his owners were resigned to Sammy's career being over. After thorough evaluation and the help of Dr. Mark Donaldson, we were able to get Sammy back on the road to healing. We implemented a low-NSC diet, pulled his heart bar shoes, and put him in EponaShoes.
Sammy went home in November 2006 sound and ready to get back into work. He has been under saddle ever since and doing well. Sammy has been back jumping and showing since March 2007. He has been awarded Champion titles at the Arabian Horse Association Region 14 Championship Show, and Reserve Champion titles at the AHA Region 15 Championship Show, and AHA Youth Nationals!
